The R.B. Tullis Branch Library offers a variety of activities for all ages, making it the perfect place to spend your summer!
Check out what’s going on this July!
July 8th - Intro to Home Food Preservation: A demonstration of preparing food to preserve by Michele Scaife, Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Agent. You'll learn the science behind canning and food preservation, plus gain recipes and instructions.
July 10th - TULLIS CHILDRENS - Domino's Pizza Show: Join us in celebrating the end of Summer Reading at the Tullis Branch Library with a pizza-making demo! Watch the pizza dough fly through the air as you learn how the best pizzas are made! Enjoy a free slice at the end.
This program is geared toward children 12 and under.
July 11th - TULLIS CHILDRENS - Lapsit Storytime: features songs, finger plays, and rhymes geared toward ages 0 – 18 months. There will be free play with age-appropriate toys during the second half of the program. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to play alongside their children. This program happens once weekly.
July 11th - TULLIS CHILDRENS - Karaoke Superstars: Do you love karaoke? Come and sing your heart out to family-friendly tunes at Karaoke Superstars! Singing talent is not required.
July 12th - TULLIS CHILDRENS - Preschool Storytime: Join us as we enjoy themed stories, songs, and rhymes for children ages 3 to 5. An age-appropriate craft is provided at the end of the Storytime. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate alongside their children. This program happens once weekly.
July 13th - TULLIS CHILDRENS - Toddler Storytime: Join us as we enjoy themed stories, songs, and rhymes for children ages 18 months to 3. An age-appropriate craft is provided at the end of the Storytime. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate alongside their children. This program happens once weekly.
July 13th - TULLIS TEEN- Pizza Making Demo!: Join us in celebrating the end of Summer Reading at the Tullis Branch Library with a pizza-making demo! Watch the pizza dough fly through the air as you learn how the best pizzas are made! Enjoy a free slice at the end! This program is for teens ages 13-17. Space is limited. First come, first served.
July 18th - Elvis in East Texas: In 1954 and 1955, the young Elvis Presley appeared regularly on Shreveport's Louisiana Hayride and played dozens of shows in small clubs and auditoriums all over East Texas. These performances are the key to understanding his breakout in 1956 and recognition as the King of Rock and Roll. This presentation will convey the whole story in words and in song.
July 25th - Needlecraft Club: Calling all Needlecrafters! Come by the Tullis Library to socialize while you work on your craft projects. Open to anyone who knits, crochets, embroiders, or does any other needlecraft. Bring your own work-in progress and supplies. This program is for adults 18 years and older.
