Red Ribbon Week Activities Scheduled For Timber Lakes Elementary
October 16, 2020
Harrington Trails newly opened on-site elementary school, Timber Lakes Elementary, will be hosting their very first Red-Ribbon Week from October 26th - October 30th. Red Ribbon Week is an annual event promoted through the schools to prevent drug use. The campaign began in 1985 and has grown to the largest anti-drug campaign in the nation.
This year, Timber Lakes Elementary will raise awareness through a week of themed dress up days. This is a great time for at home discussions to reinforce the awareness being taught at school. Have fun and be creative with the presented themes:
- Monday: Pajama Day (Please still follow the dress code) - "Wake up drug-free.”
- Tuesday: Wear Red - 'I'm RED'y to say NO to drugs!”
- Wednesday: Mismatch Day (Mix match your clothes, shoes, hats, and etc.) - "It's crazy to do drugs.”
- Thursday: Mustache you to be drug-free - "Wear anything with a mustache."
- Friday: Book Character Day - Fall Parties
