Splendora ISD wants to hear from YOU!

It’s already that time to start thinking about the 2023-2024 school year!! Crazy, right?

If you are in favor of the current district calendar or if you are interested in a change, your opinion matters. 

Splendora ISD is asking employees, parents, and community members to express their thoughts for the upcoming school year by submitting a response to the following 2023-2024 Calendar Poll. 

There are a few calendar options presented in the poll, including...

• Option one - Traditional Calendar. This calendar from 2018-2019 had a mid-August start for students. It did not have an October Fall Break nor a February Winter Break, and the Spring Break was in March.

• Option two - Current Calendar. This year's students began school on August 10th. This calendar has an October Fall Break, a Winter Break in February, and a Spring Break in April. (The calendar also includes four additional elementary student holidays.)

• Option three - Four-Day Week Calendar. This is a sample of a Four-Day Week Calendar. Students would begin school on August 2nd and end on June 2nd. Students would be off on Mondays. This calendar would not have an October Fall Break, nor a February Winter Break. All campuses would extend their day to 480 minutes. (Currently, the elementary school day is 455 minutes, the junior high day is 460 minutes, and the high school is 465 minutes.)

The poll closes on November 30th.
